Playing
How do the controls work?
Tap a room to note a suspect as possible there. Double-tap to cross a room out. Press and hold to pin the suspect in place. Every case has exactly one solution and never needs a guess: if you are stuck, re-read the clues, one of them rules something out.
Who is the murderer?
The person who ends up alone in a room with the victim. Once every suspect is placed, the answer is on the board.
What are hearts?
Pinning a suspect in the wrong room costs a heart, and a case is lost after three. Starting a case takes a heart from your wallet, and the wallet refills on its own over time. If you run out, you can wait, refill them with gold, or hold a Detective's Badge, which removes the limit.
What are the tools at the bottom of the board?
Tools are hints you own: Next Lead points at the clue to use next, Mark Check tells you whether a mark is right, and the others reveal more. You earn some by playing and can buy more with gold.
Can I play offline?
Yes. Every case is on your device. Purchases need a connection; the puzzles do not.
Purchases and subscription
How do I restore a purchase on a new phone?
Open the Shop tab and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you bought with. Subscriptions and one-time purchases both come back this way.
How do I cancel the Detective's Badge?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside the game. Open Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your iPhone, choose Whereabouts, and tap Cancel. You keep the Badge until the end of the period you already paid for. To avoid being charged after a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
Can I get a refund?
Payments go through Apple, so refunds do too. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the purchase. We cannot issue App Store refunds ourselves.
Privacy
Do I need an account?
No. Your progress lives on your device. Deleting the app deletes it.
Does the game show ads or track me?
No. This version shows no ads and never asks for tracking permission. See the Privacy Policy for what is collected.
How do I turn reminders off?
Open the in-game Settings and switch Reminders off, or turn notifications off for Whereabouts in your iPhone Settings. Reminders are scheduled on your device only.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app to remove everything stored on your device. To have the anonymous analytics records for your device removed as well, email us from the address above and mention roughly when you installed the game.
